The short version. This website is a storefront, not an online checkout. We sell nothing online, and the enquiry forms here don't send your details to us automatically — they open WhatsApp with a message you choose to send.
We do use Google's measurement and advertising tags to see how people find the site and which buttons they tap, so we know whether our ads are working. That reports visits and clicks, not who you are, and you can switch it off — see section 05. Apart from those cookies and your saved language choice, everything we know about you is what you told us yourself.
01Who we are
Young Wild & Free (“YWF”) is a kaftan brand. Our pieces are handcrafted in India, and in Malaysia our exclusive collection is carried by Abash Impex Sdn Bhd — a separate, independently owned company that stocks and sells the collection at its Kuala Lumpur store. Abash Impex is our retail partner, not our operator; the two are distinct businesses.
This website belongs to Young Wild & Free. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Young Wild & Free, and “you” means anyone who visits this site, messages us, or comes to the store to see the collection. We are the data user responsible for the personal data described here under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Anything you hand to the store team in person is held by Abash Impex Sdn Bhd under their own responsibility and their own privacy practices.
On Google Maps the store is pinned under our retail partner’s name, “Abash Impex Sdn Bhd” — that is the correct location to navigate to.
02What information we collect
We keep this deliberately minimal — we only hold what you have chosen to give us.
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name and phone or WhatsApp number, when you use the “Plan Your Visit” or quick-message form, or message us directly.
- Enquiry details — what you're after (a style, colour, size, quantity, a bulk or event order), anything you write in your message, and when you'd like to visit.
- Email correspondence — your email address and the content of your message if you write to us.
- In-store conversations — details you share with the store team on a visit, such as a reservation or a bulk order request. Those are held by our retail partner, Abash Impex Sdn Bhd.
Information collected automatically
- Language preference — saved in your browser so the site opens in the language you last picked. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Standard server logs — like nearly every website, our hosting provider may record technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability. We don't use this to identify you.
- Measurement and advertising data — collected through Google's tags (see sections 05 and 06): pages viewed and time on them, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and which buttons you tapped — for example WhatsApp, Call, or Get Directions. If you reached us by clicking one of our Google ads, the tag also records that click, so we can tell which ads actually bring people to the store.
What we don't collect
- No payment card or banking details — this site processes no payments; purchases happen in-store.
- No social media tracking pixels, and no names, phone numbers or message content in our measurement data — Google's tags report visits and clicks, not who you are.
- No sensitive personal data (health, religious beliefs, political opinions and the like). Please don't send us any.
03How we use your information
We use what you give us only for the reason you gave it to us:
- To reply to your enquiry and answer questions about styles, sizes, stock and pricing.
- To reserve a piece for you, or prepare a bulk or event order ahead of your visit.
- To confirm opening hours, directions or a time for your visit.
- To keep records of orders and customer service conversations for our business records.
- To measure how the site is used and how our Google Ads campaigns perform, so we can spend an advertising budget sensibly and improve the site.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations in Malaysia.
We don't send marketing messages to people who haven't asked for them. If we ever start a promotional broadcast list, joining will be optional and every message will carry a way to opt out.
04WhatsApp and messaging
The forms on this website do not submit your details to a server of ours. When you press send, your browser opens WhatsApp with the message already written out — and nothing reaches us until you choose to send it inside WhatsApp. Close WhatsApp instead, and we never receive anything.
Once you do send it, the conversation lives in WhatsApp and is also governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy (WhatsApp is provided by Meta). We can see your WhatsApp display name, your phone number, and the messages and images you send us. We keep those conversations so we can serve you properly on a return visit.
05Cookies, tracking and local storage
This website uses browser storage in two ways — one for your convenience, one for measurement.
Your language choice
A single local-storage entry, ywf_lang, remembers whether you're reading in English, Bahasa Malaysia or 中文. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clear it any time from your browser settings — the site works fine without it and simply opens in English again.
Measurement and advertising cookies
We run the Google tag (ID GT-P8ZBVH8K) together with Google Ads conversion tracking (ID AW-18246504090). These set cookies such as _ga and _gcl_au, which count visits, tell a returning visitor from a new one, and record when someone who clicked one of our Google ads later taps WhatsApp, Call or Get Directions.
We use this to understand which ads and which pages actually bring people to the store. We see totals and trends — not the identity of an individual visitor, and never the content of your WhatsApp messages.
How to turn it off
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or browse in a private window.
- Install Google's official opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Control the ads you are shown at myadcenter.google.com.
- Use any tracking-protection or ad-blocking setting in your browser — our tags load from a domain such tools already recognise.
Opting out changes nothing about your ability to browse the collection, find the store or contact us. The rest of the site works exactly the same.
Third-party content embedded on the page (see below) may set its own cookies when it loads. Those are controlled by those providers, not by us.
06Third-party services on this site
A few pieces of the page are loaded from other companies. When your browser loads them, those companies receive your IP address and standard technical information:
- Google tag & Google Ads — website measurement and advertising conversion tracking, as described in section 05.
- Google Maps — the embedded map and “Get Directions” links, so you can find our store.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used across the site.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — opened when you tap a WhatsApp button or submit a form.
Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we'd encourage you to read if you want to know how they handle data.
07Disclosure of your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:
- Our team — the people at Young Wild & Free who need it to answer your enquiry.
- Our retail partner — Abash Impex Sdn Bhd, where your enquiry concerns stock, a reservation or an order to be collected in Kuala Lumpur. They receive only what is needed to serve you, and handle it as a separate business under their own responsibility.
- Service providers — such as our web host or messaging platform, strictly to run the service on our behalf.
- Google — as our measurement and advertising provider, receiving the technical and event data described in sections 02, 05 and 06. We do not upload your name, phone number, email or messages to Google.
- Logistics partners — only where a delivery has been agreed with you, and only the details needed to deliver it.
- Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a regulator or law enforcement agency.
08How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages and customer records only as long as they're useful for the purpose you gave them to us, and as long as we're required to keep business records under Malaysian law. Enquiries that don't lead to an order are deleted once they're no longer relevant.
Young Wild & Free operates from India, where our kaftans are handcrafted, while the collection is stocked and sold in Malaysia by our retail partner. Your information may therefore be accessed or stored in either country. Wherever it sits, we take reasonable steps to see that it stays protected to the standard described in this policy.
09Security
We take reasonable practical steps to protect what we hold — limiting access to staff who need it, using password-protected devices and accounts, and serving this website over a secure connection.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive information such as identity card numbers or bank details over WhatsApp or email.
10Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct it if it's inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
- Withdraw your consent to our continued use of it, and ask us to stop processing it.
- Limit how we use it — for example, asking us never to contact you about anything promotional.
- Opt out of measurement and advertising cookies at any time, using any of the methods in section 05. You don't need to ask us — it takes effect in your own browser.
To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp or email us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by the PDPA. Where the law requires us to retain certain records, we may not be able to delete everything.
11Children
This website is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12Links to other websites
Our site links out to services such as Google Maps, WhatsApp and our social media profiles. Once you follow a link away from this site, this policy no longer applies — please check the privacy policy of the site you land on.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our business or the law changes. The current version always lives on this page, with the “last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
